Crane High School - Class of '93

It’s good to hear a little more from folks I haven’t seen or heard from in a long time (ten years in some cases). My family left Crane in ’96, and I think I’ve only been back twice since then.

For me, the last ten years have been good and hard and fun and life-changing and, well, probably a lot like they’ve been for most everyone else. I was at A&M from ’93-’97 (along with several others: Dusty, Scott, Stinson, Mykal, Eric, Tiffany), then moved to Dallas after I graduated. I worked at a law firm for a couple of years, which was long enough to decide not to go to law school (I’ll leave the dirty lawyering to Dusty and Andy). I then spent a couple of years helping start a new church outside Fort Worth.

During that time (Feb. 2000), I met and married Amy. We stayed in FW, and I began writing full time later that year. I did freelance work for a while, then took an Editor/Writer job at a small college in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We’ve been here since the spring of ’01, enjoying four real seasons, lots of snow, and cooler weather. We had our first son, Aiden Thomas, in September, and we’re having more fun than we ever imagined. We hope to return to Texas in the near future, but we’re enjoying this season of our lives.

We’re talking about the reunion, but we haven’t made a final decision. For us to come involves flying to Dallas, driving to Crane, and the whole return trip…no small feat with a nine month old. If we can find reasonable airfare, we’ll probably come. A few of us who are still close are discussing making the trip West together. We’ll see.
